What is Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement®?

Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement®—developed by Anat Baniel—is a groundbreaking, systematic, and highly effective way to communicate with the brain and take advantage of its natural ability to make positive, immediate, and powerful changes.

NeuroMovement utilizes neuroplasticity exercises that can be used at any age to rewire your brain to overcome pain and reach higher levels of physical, emotional, and cognitive performance.

This Method taps into neuroplasticity through movement and the Nine Essentials which Anat defined. Supported by neuroscience research, these principles provide the conditions that the brain requires to bring life-changing results to children and adults.

What is The Feldenkrais Method®?

The Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education uses gentle movement and directed attention to help people learn new and more effective ways of living the life they want. You can increase your ease and range of motion, improve your flexibility and coordination, and rediscover your innate capacity for graceful, efficient movement. Since how you move is how you move through life, these improvements will often enhance your thinking, emotional regulation, and problem-solving capabilities.

The Feldenkrais Method is based on principles of physics, biomechanics, and an empirical understanding of learning and human development. Moshe Feldenkrais said, “We move according to our perceived self-image.” By expanding your perception and increasing awareness, you will become more aware of your habits and tensions and develop new ways of moving. By increasing sensitivity, the Feldenkrais Method assists you to live your life more fully, efficiently, and comfortably.

What can I expect during a consultation?

Whether for an adult or child, a typical consultation starts out with a discussion of the issues and concerns of the client. A typical consultation includes a hands-on introductory lesson to determine scope of need, fit and plan of action.

What can I expect during a lesson?

Frequency of lessons are determined based on the initial consultation and ongoing improvements. When you arrive for your lesson, you will check in to determine your current status. During the lesson there will be gentle hands on movement so dress in clothes that you (or your child) will find comfortable to move in.

How long does treatment last?

It's almost impossible to provide an estimate for treatment length prior to consultation. However, our client's treatments vary in duration––from a few lessons to ongoing intensives based on severity of conditions and improvements.
